How would you like to see Detroit and New Jersey in the Stanley Cup again?

Although I'm hoping Habs or Toronto in the East and Calgary from the West.

Maple Leafs fans in this house, at least until the Jets come back to Winnipeg. Hopefully a Canadian team will make it all the way again so we'll have someone to cheer for this summer.

Yeah a Canadian team in the Stanley Cup seems to get the Canadian fans rallied behind them and make for an exciting final. Less than two months until NHL playoffs so we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

GO JETS GO!

Vancouver vs Ottawa final

It would be nice for Canada but terrible for US television.

Hey! You better get used to it because my Canucks are going to go the distance this year.

Now that would be a match up I'd like to see. With the cup being raised in Vancouver!

The Canucks are in a great position (3rd) in the conference and they are on a roll right now. They are only 2 points back of Anaheim so maybe they can even move up.

Toronto and Montreal are going to have to scrap their way into the playoffs. They are just on the out side of 8th in their conference.

I can't wait for the playoffs to start. The first round is one of the most exciting and I'm looking forward to the Canucks going all the way!

Montreal has taken a small step into 8th 1 point behind NYR, 1 up on Tor and 5 points separate 6th to 10th. Crazy finish in the east this week.

West looks like it's all set with Calgary in 8th and 7 points up on Colorado.

I CAN'T WAIT!

Crazy Hockey night in Canada tonight. Montreal wins vs Buffalo. Toronto blew it with 4 seconds left as Pitt sends game to overtime, a guy has cardiac arrest and is revived in the stands, Toronto wins in overtime.

Calgary vs Vancouver next. But the western conference is pretty much set as to who is in the playoffs. It's just teams looking to move up a position.

I don't want to see Calgary knocked out but I don't see them getting past Detroit again. I would have liked to have seen Montreal or Toronto up against Buffalo. I guess I'll be hoping for a Vancouver/Ottawa final like some of you have mentioned previously.

Buffalo vs NYI
NJ vs TB
Atlanta vs NYR
Ottawa vs Pittsburgh

Detroit vs Calgary
Anaheim vs Minnesota
Vancouver vs Dallas
Nashville vs San Jose

Hi and welcome to the forum Spinnaker215.

Ottawa is off to a good start tonight vs Pittsburgh in that series. The game didn't really have a playoff feel to it. I hope the other series have more emotion in them.

Nashville and San Jose has been a rough series. The cheap shots got to go but it certainly has the playoff feel.

Did anyone stay up and watch the quadruple overtime between Dal and Van? Some are already calling for the shootout. I didn't stay up but I don't know about the shootout in the playoffs. I am old school when it comes to hockey.

Shootout in the playoffs would make me sick. Imagine Game 7 in the Stanley Cup final and it comes down to a shootout. That shootout in the olympics still haunts me.

Vancouver squeaked out the victory. They got shut out in their 3 losses so hopefully they can improve in the goal scoring. I'm picking against them though based on the way they played.

Buffalo vs NYR
NJ vs Ottawa

Detroit vs San Jose
Anaheim vs Vancouver

Is it fair if I make my picks after last night's games?

Buffalo vs NYR > Buffalo to Win
NJ vs Ottawa > Ottawa to Win

Detroit vs San Jose > San Jose to Win
Anaheim vs Vancouver > Vancouver to Win

I don't like what I saw with Anaheim just killing Vancouver, but I hope Van can pull out the series victory.

I think Ottawa is actually going to do it this year for us. They are on the verge of sweeping the best team in the regular season. If Anaheim and Detroit can stretch out their series out and wear eachother out that may help Ottawa a bit.

Ok so maybe Ottawa couldn't pull it out for Canada. I'm happy for Teemu and Randy Carlyle. They deserve the Cup after their many years in the NHL.
