Post Mike Weir
I wanted to start up a Mike Weir topic. If you're a fan, as I am, of Mike Weir here is a link to his website.

http://www.mikeweir.com/

His 2003 win in The Masters was an amazing moment for Canadian golf. He is the only male Canadian golfer to win a major golf championship as a result of that win.

Also, here is a link to the Mike Weir Miracle Golf Drive for Kids which is a national initiative encouraging the simultaneous participation of individual golfers and non-golfers, sponsors and golf courses in activities to raise funds and awareness to benefit Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Mike Weir's Masters win certainly helped Canadian golf as Tiger Woods has helped the whole game of golf. Who knows how long it will be until another Canadian wins a major let alone the Masters.

I would sure like to see Mike pick up his golf game again and take a run at a few majors this year.

At least he was able to make some money. T72 and still take home 10 grand is a pretty good weekend I'd say.

Mike Weir probably isn't happy with his results in the World Golf Championships-CA Championship ending March 25, 2007, but he is still playing good enough to get into the money.

T50 Mike Weir 73 75 73 74 295 $45,000.00

I'm hoping to see him make some noise in the Masters coming up in two weeks.

70's would look great on my score card but too bad Mike isn't playing all too well. The Masters is going to be a tough tournament and hopefully he'll be able to find his game.

It was a very tough Masters tournament for Mike this year as it was for everyone. I hope Mike can pick it up as the year goes on.

Mike had a very tough Saturday at the Masters and that put him out of contention. +10 sounds really bad but isn't all too terrible when you compare it to the winner Zach Johnson's +1. Last year's champion Phil Mickelson had +11.

Mike Weir's Masters Tournament Scores:
T20 Mike Weir 75 72 80 71 298 +10

Mike sure has had a tough go at it this year. I too hope he can get back to his Masters play.

I haven't tried Weir Wines either.

www.weirwines.com

Net proceeds of the sale of the wine go to the Weir Foundation.

It looks like the Icewine and Chardonnay got good reviews...

New Mike Weir Icewine at the top of the PGA Scorecard
The recently released Mike Weir 2005 Vidal Icewine got top marks from Travel and Leisure Golf Magazine this month. In a competitive tasting of golf pro wineries including Greg Norman Estates and Ernie Els, the Mike Weir Icewine received a top billing with an impressive score of 92/100. The Mike Weir 2005 Chardonnay also performed well achieving one of the top scores for a white wine in the tasting. For the complete article please click here.

I think I will have to give his wine a try. It is nice to have a glass or two with dinner. I have tried a different brand of ice wine before which was pretty good though i can't recall the name of it. The fact that he's donating the proceeds to his foundation is just great. I'm definately going to purchase a few bottles. I'm sure the wife will enjoy it too.

Mike Weir is having a good tournament at the AT&T national. He's currently tied for third with a few others 5 shots back of the leader. We'll see how he finishes. KJ Choi is leading with Steve stricker in second 2 strokes behind.

T8 is good but Mike has to have a few more better finishes if he is going to make the President's Cup team or be picked as a Captain's pick .

I hope I didn't jinx Weir by posting before the end of the tournament. As soon as I posted he had a couple bad holes to drop back to 8th. I agree 8th is good for him considering how the year has gone for him. I hope with this being his first top 10 of the season it'll give him a boost for the next tournament.

Come on Mikey!!!!!

Weir finishes in 8th again, so another top 10 is good. I feel sorry for Sergio. He missed a chance to win it on 18 and then he had a rough playoff. Considering how it finished I'm not sure who choked worse.

Weir is 84th in money winnings todate at $927,372 so hopefully he could at least hit the million dollar mark this week. He had a neck injury last week that forced him to pull out on Friday so hopefully that isn't a factor in the PGA Championship.

Stephen Ames is just ahead of Weir in 71st at $1,064,505

Tough break for Mike Weir yesterday in the opening round at the PGA Championships as he shot a 77. Hopefully he has a good round today and can make the cut.

It's too bad Mike didn't make the cut at least to bring home some money but maybe the extra time off will help him.

I just want to thank you for the kids link. I always love helping out. Hopefully getting some rest can improve his "game".
